The el. Switch with triac switches the start capacitor in parallel with the operating capacitor. Once 80% of the rated speed of the motor is reached, the switch opens and discharges the start capacitor via an integrated resistor. The switch-on time is not fixed but depends on the motor requirements and prevents an unnecessarily long switch-on of the start capacitor. In this way, not only is overheating of the motor and unnecessary energy consumption avoided, but also a switch-on time which is always optimal for the motor is guaranteed.
