Cu surcharge
A copper surcharge (Cu surcharge) applies to certain designated products. It reflects changes in copper prices. The basis depends on the product.

This surcharge is a percentage of the net motor price excluding the copper surcharge. It is based on the upper Westmetall copper quotation. The rate shown applies to products assigned to this surcharge type.

How the current rate is calculated
No surcharge applies up to and including 220.00 €/100 kg. Above this quotation, the following calculation applies:
- Subtract the copper base and divide by the calculation factor:
(1,325.00 − 220.00) ÷ 60.00 = 18.4167 - Round to the nearest whole number (halves up):
18.4167 → 18 - Then add 0.5 percentage points:
18 + 0.5 = 18.5 %
Example using a net motor price
For a net motor price of €1,000.00 excluding the copper surcharge, the Cu surcharge is €185.00. This gives a total net price of €1,185.00, plus any applicable VAT.

This surcharge depends on the weight of copper used in the individual product. The relevant weight is its copper content, not its total product or shipping weight.
The amount depends on the copper used in the product and the applicable copper quotation. There is therefore no uniform percentage of the motor price. The surcharge for your product is shown in its price breakdown or quotation.
