Safety information for non-plug-in-ready electrical equipment and repair work on explosion-protected equipment

Electrical equipment that is not ready for plug-in connection may only be installed by persons with relevant electrical engineering knowledge and experience!*)

Improper installation endangers:

  • your own life,
  • the lives of users of the electrical installation.

Improper installation may result in serious material damage, for example through fire.
You may be held personally liable for personal injury and material damage.

*)Required expertise for installation:

The following expertise is required in particular for installation:

  • the applicable “five safety rules”: disconnect completely; secure against reconnection; verify the absence of voltage; carry out earthing and short-circuiting; protect against adjacent live parts by covering or barriers
  • selection of suitable tools, measuring instruments and, where necessary, personal protective equipment
  • evaluation of measurement results
  • selection of electrical installation materials to ensure the required disconnection conditions
  • IP protection ratings
  • installation of electrical installation materials
  • type of supply system (TN system, IT system, TT system) and the resulting connection conditions, such as protective neutralisation, protective earthing and required additional protective measures

Repair work on explosion-protected (“EX…”, “ATEX”, “HazLoc”) drives and equipment may only be carried out by authorised qualified personnel.

Battery information

Our products are supplied without batteries. As we do not place batteries on the market with these products, battery-producer obligations do not apply to us in this respect. Where batteries are independently procured and installed by the customer, the obligations of the respective party placing the battery on the market and the applicable disposal requirements must be observed.

Use of batteries as customer-supplied components
Where a product is intended for use with batteries, installation is carried out solely by the customer using customer-supplied components. Procurement, correct installation, use and disposal of the battery are the responsibility of the customer. Only use battery types specified in the product documentation and observe the safety instructions provided therein.

Safety and use instructions

  • Products are not toys. Keep them out of the reach of children.
  • Before installing batteries, check the polarity and avoid short circuits, overcharging, heat and fire.
  • Use only undamaged batteries. Do not continue using leaking batteries; dispose of them properly.
  • Specialist knowledge may be required for certain applications. Installation must be carried out in accordance with the instructions.

Disposal information for batteries procured by customers
Where batteries are procured and used by the customer, statutory disposal and take-back obligations apply in relation to the respective battery manufacturer or distributor. We do not take back batteries because we do not distribute batteries. Where applicable, the equipment itself must be disposed of separately as waste electrical and electronic equipment. Please observe regional requirements.
