ER collets
- Collet locking system prevents the collet from falling out during installation
- Imbalance compensation, ideal for high-speed machining
- Higher transmissible torque and up to 80% more clamping force than conventional clamping nuts thanks to special surface treatment.
- Corrosion-resistant surface for optimum protection and maximum service life
- Optimized contours and a rounded thread runout prevent damage when changing the collet
Installation
Engage the collet groove in the clamping nut's eccentric ring at the marked point. Collet
Tilt it in the opposite direction until it audibly clicks into place. Insert the tool. Clamping nut
Screw the nut with the engaged collet onto the holder thread. We recommend tightening the clamping nut
using a torque wrench.
Removal
After unscrewing it from the holder, press the front of the collet while simultaneously moving the collet
sideways at the rear opposite the mark to release it from the nut.
Incorrect handling impairs collet runout and can damage the clamping nut.
Only insert clamping nuts with a correctly engaged collet into the collet holder!
Fully hardened and ground ER collets. The ultra-precision collet combines the advantages of DIN 6499/ISO 15488 A + B. These collets are primarily used for high-speed machining that requires very high runout accuracy. At the same time, tool life is increased.
- Runout accuracy = 5 µm across the entire clamping range
- Clamping range identical to a standard collet
- The 16 slots ensure very high clamping force and high torque transmission capacity.
- Collets marked with type and size to prevent mix-ups.
- Collets made of heat-treated chrome steel, hardness HRC 46.
- The optimized 16-slot design provides a wide clamping range while maintaining high runout accuracy.
- Traceable through every production stage by the marked production lot number
- With small diameters compared to competitors 20%, more tension length and thus better concentricity.
